KIDS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY

Nearly one in 10 children in the United States has been diagnosed with a developmental disability, according to a new report from the CDC.

The report found that autism spectrum disorder was the most commonly diagnosed developmental disability, affecting 1 in 54 children.

ADHD was the second most commonly diagnosed developmental disability, affecting 1 in 10 children.

Intellectual disability was the third most commonly diagnosed developmental disability, affecting 1 in 58 children.

The report also found that boys were more likely to be diagnosed with a developmental disability than girls.

The prevalence of developmental disabilities varied by state, with the highest rates in Arkansas, Kentucky, and New Jersey.

The report highlights the need for early identification and intervention for children with developmental disabilities.
